Kaif Ahmed sunk the match for Bengal

North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: The decision of Kaif Ahmed playing and taking strike in the super over, costed the match for Bengal. Bengal were in the drivers seat to win the quarter final match against Karnataka, even it went to super over. But struggling Kaif cost them the match and Bengal exited the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
The match was being played at Firoz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi. Karnataka scored 160 for 5 in their 20 overs. The top scorer was Karun Nair with 55 runs. Bengal also scored 160 for 8 in their 20 overs. The last over required 20 runs of which 19 runs were scored by Bengal. Ritwik Roy Chowdhury tried his best to take Bengal over the line by scoring 36 not out off 18 balls.
Bengal scored just 5 runs in the super over with Kaif playing the devil’s role. He was not his best of form. He scored a mere 20 off 26 balls. Head Coach later regretted the decision of sending Kaif in the super over.
