Knights wins the Challenge

North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: After a poor performance in the first leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the first half, KKR, who need to win 6 out of the 7 games remaining, starts their campaign with a dominating performance against RCB. KKR are currently now on 5th.
RCB won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision was made regarding the dew factor, which will make KKR batting difficult. But all the decisions went wrong for RCB. Virat Kohli, who recently announced to give up captaincy of RCB after this season went to cheaply. But the turning point of the first innings was ABD Villiers going out first ball of the delivery of Dre Russ.
Varun Chakravarty took the wicket of Glenn Maxwell, which literally finished the hope of RCB reaching a good total. He took 3 wickets, Russell took 3, Locke Ferguson took 2 and Prasidh Krishna took 1 wicket and bundled RCB for mere 92 runs. The highest scorer for RCB was Devdutt Padikal who scored 22 runs.
As for KKR batting, the target was too easy for them. Venkatesh Iyer, who was making a debut in IPL played fearless cricket and gave stability to KKR’s top order along with Subhman Gill. He though made 48 runs before getting out but made a partnership of 81 runs with Iyer, the highest after 2020. KKR sweeped the game with 10 overs to spare.
KKR’s next three matches are against MI, CSK and DC. These games would be crucial for KKR to gain momentum. Varun Chakravarty was adjudged the Man of the Match.
