Twin winners for Red Bull

North 24 Parganas (Kolkata) correspondent: Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez wins first and third place for Red Bull. The 7 time world champion Lewis Hamilton grabbed the second place in French Grand Prix.

Almost throughout the race Hamilton was on the lead but a two stop pit strategy by Red Bull turned out to be an excellent plan compared to Mercedes’s one pit strategy. Verstappen hunted down Hamilton in the last lap to secure the first place. Valterri Bottas lost his podium finish to Sergio Perez when the latter overtakes the former in the second last lap.

Hamilton is now 12 points behind his dutch rival and is in some unrest regarding the World Championship. Retired F1 world champion Nico Rosberg criticised his former teammates Hamilton and Bottas for ‘soft’ defending against RedBull in the closing stages. He criticised Valterri mainly as his late braking and poor defending made Verstappen’s job easy to get past him and win the race.
