Catch drops made KKR loose match

KKR have themselves to blame; those dropped chances coming back to haunt them. PBKS’s win means they are still alive in the playoff race and Delhi Capitals have now qualified for the playoffs.
Punjab Kings openers began chase of 166 on a very strong note. They hit regular boundaries apart from running well between the wicket to take the score to 51/0 after 7 overs.
Agarwal was dismissed on 40 by Varun Chakaravarthy, who also removed Nicholas Pooran soo after. KL Rahul and Aiden Markram took PBKS to 109/2 after 14 overs. needing 57 from 36 balls. KL Rahul’s 67 and Shahrukh Khan’s blistering knock of 22, off just 9 balls, helped PBKS conquer the target with 5 wickets and 3 balls to spare. Earlier in the first innings, after 20 overs, Kolkata Knight Riders posted 165/7 in 20 overs. 
Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi led KKR’s fightback after the side lost Shubman Gill early. Arshdeep Singh removed Gill in the third over but Iyer and Tripathi’s flurry of boundaries to bring up their 50-run stand, off just 35 balls, and take KKR to 73/1 after 9 overs.
Eventually, Tripathi fell for 34 and Iyer was dismissed on 67 as KKR reached 121-3 after 15 overs. Nitish Rana’s late charge (31 off 18) threatened PBKS but a 3-wicket haul from Arshdeep and tight overs at the death from Shami ensure PBKS kept KKR in check.
