North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: Bangladesh’s top all rounder, Shakib-al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman shook the Oman’s middle order and took away a convincing victory by 26 runs.
This is certainly a great victory for Mahmudullah led men after their shocking defeat against Scotland. After electing to bat first, Bangla lost two wickets inside five overs. But Mohammad Naim and Shakib stabilised the innings before getting in the 14th over. They made an impressive 80 run stand. Bangla were all set for a total of 170.
Bangladesh lost their remaining 7 wickets for mere 52 runs. Captain Mahmudullah invaluable 17 runs, which helped them cross 150 run mark. Oman’s chase was exciting up until Mustafizur and Shakib wrecked Oman’s middle order and took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Shakib was adjudged Player of the Match.
Bangladesh will play their final game against, already out Papua New Guinea .
