BTC News Sports Desk: In the past years, the spinners are considered the game changers of a test match. But it all seems to be changing in the recent years. The Indian seemers bowled out the England team in just 50 overs while they are chasing 272 runs.
India declared their innings at 298 for 8. The lower order performed exceptionally well. This is not a surprise anymore. Gone are the days for Indian team where they have to rely on top and middle order batsmen to score the runs. In fact, in the second test match, the lower order seemed to be playing well than the middle order. Shami scored a brilliant 56 not out and Bumrah with 34 not out provided a solid support in the back end.
No one would have thought India will win the game with only just 60 overs to defend. Experts said that the most probable outcome would be a draw. But Indian seemers turned the game completely as they did the impossible . They finished the game with 9 overs to spare. Siraj took 4 wickets, Ishant got 2, Bumrah got 3 and Shami got 1 scalp. Also, for the first time, no Indian spinner have taken a single wicket in the first two test matches played by India.
India are currently leading the 5-match test series by 1-0. The 3rd test is scheduled to be played at Headingley Carneige Stadium in Leeds on 25th of August.
