Pacers rule the day

North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: The first test that is being played between South Africa and India, truly belongs to the fast bowlers from both sides. While Lungi Ngidi rattled the Indian middle order by picking up 6 wickets, Mohammad Shami took a fifer and broke South Africa’s top order.
After a significant end to day 2, by India, at 272 for 3, India were looking for a score of 400 plus runs. But Ngidi and Rabada washed the plans and restricted India to 327 runs only. The star performers were the openers. KL Rahul scored 123 runs and Mayank Aggarwal 60 odd runs. Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane got their starts but failed to convert it into big runs. Rabada and Ngidi broke through India’s defence and took 7 wickets for merely 55 runs.
India on the other hand, especially Shami, reduced South Africa to 32 for 4 before lunch. Not one player played a 40 plus knock. Shami took 5 wickets and Bumrah took 3 which stopped the proteas innings to 197 runs.
India are at 16 for 1 in the 2nd innings with a lead of 146 runs at the end of Day 3.  Mayank Aggarwal went out for mere 4 runs. KL Rahul and Shardul Thakur are currently on the crease.
