India maximises on final day

North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: India lead the series by 2-1 after a magnificent and fascinating turn of events as England crumbled under pressure on the 5th day. India set a target of 368 of 127 overs. This lead can prove great as, with only one test remaining, England would have to win to draw the series.
At the end of the 4th day, England openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed were cruising with a 100 run opening partnership. But with the fall of Burns, England scattered like dominos. Though, as always , England Captain Joe Root held one side but the opposite side provided no support. Root scored a stern 36 runs of 78 balls but failed to rescue England from defeat.
India’s bowling was looking quite off beat in the start of England’s second innings, but when Shardul Thakur took the wicket of Rory Burns, other bowlers also begin to make some rhythm and scalp wickets. Umesh Yadav took 3 wickets and Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets each. Mohammad Siraj failed to take any wicket. Rohit Sharma was awarded Man of the Match for his astonishing and match winning innings of 127 runs.
