Drugs worth approximately Tk 20 crore destroyed in Joypurhat

Jaipurhat District Representative: Drugs worth approximately Tk 20 crore were destroyed today in the training ground of Battalion 20 BGB in Jaipurhat district. These drugs were seized from the border area.
Rangpur Region Commander Brigadier General Khondkar Shafiquzzaman, PSC, spoke as the chief guest at the event organized on Monday at 11:30 am to mark the destruction of narcotics.
He said, “In order to properly and effectively implement the current government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drugs, the raids and activities of the BGB have been increased at the field level.”
He said, ‘Drug addiction is a terrible social disease. Youth should be protected from drug addiction. At this time, from November 16, 2019 to November 27, 2023, a large amount of narcotics worth approximately Tk 20 crore seized by Joypurhat 20 BGB was destroyed. Among the drugs destroyed were 1 lakh 23 thousand 216 bottles of Phencidil, 32.6 liters of loose Phencidil, 9 thousand 510 bottles of liquor, 156.5 liters of loose liquor, 385.675 kg of ganja, 43 thousand 649 pitch yaba tablets, 12 thousand 29 bottles of MKDil.
seven thousand 73 bottles of Fairdeal, one hundred thousand 60 thousand 89 pitches of various drugsinjections, 392 grams of heroin, two thousand and 134 bottles of Isfaq syrup, 197 bottles of beer, 303 bottles of coffedil, seven lakh 65 thousand and 867 tablets of various drugs, four thousand and three hundred seven8 bottles of sexually stimulating syrup and 486 bottles of Fensigrip.
BGB Dinajpur Sector Commander Col. Rashed Asghar PSC, G, Jaipurhat 20, BGB Commander Lt. Col. Mohammad Tanjilur Rahman Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner Salehin Tanveer Gazi, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) KMA Mamun Khan Chishti spoke on the occasion.
Besides BGB members, Judicial Magistrate, Narcotics Control Department officials, Police, Rover Scouts and various levels of BNCC representatives were present.
