Sunset by the Knights

North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: The points table in IPL 2021 is becoming more and more complex as only the 4th spot is available for playoffs. CSK, DC and RCB had already qualified and 3 teams – KKR, RR and MI are battling among themselves to book the 4th spot. But the Knight Riders are in much better spot to qualify as they have a better net run rate and they could reach 14 points.
KKR took a step forward as they defeated SRH in an interesting low scoring contest.  SRH, although, never looked comfortable against the knights, but they fought well to defend a low total of 115. Hyderabad’s Umran Malik impressed everyone as he became the fastest Indian bowler in IPL. His fastest delivary clicked 151.03 kmph.
KKR on the other hand bowled pretty well in the power play picking up 3 wickets in quick succession. Kane Williamson got out for 26 runs after hitting Shivam Mavi for four fours in an over, by Shakib al Hasan. Not a single player of Hyderabad reached the 30 run mark.
KKR started their innings on backfoot as they lost the explosive Venkatesh Iyer and in-form Rahul Tripathi cheaply. But, opener Shubman Gill held on to one end and scored a brilliant 57 off 51 balls. Nitish Rana and Gill made a partnership of 53 runs which made the chase easy for them.
KKR’s last match is against Rajasthan Royals on 7th October. But before that Rajasthan will face Mumbai on 5th, which will decide which team will remaining in contention for playoffs along with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
