Jaipurhat District Representative: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) is arresting absconding accused Abu Raihan (28) from Meherpur in the rape case under the pretense of marriage.
This information was informed in a press release sent from RAB-5 headquarters on Sunday (December 3) morning. Earlier, he was arrested last Saturday (December 2) night from College Mor area of Meherpur Sadar Upazila.
Raihan is the son of Wazed Ali of Laubaria area of Bagmara upazila.
In a press release, RAB said that the accused Rayhan developed a love relationship due to being the victim’s cousin. Later, the accused raped her several times with the lure of marriage. Finally, on November 9, at around 9:30 pm, he entered the victim’s house and raped her with the lure of marriage. Later, when the marriage was pressed,
the accused broke the window of the house and ran away. In view of this, the victim filed a rape case at Bagmara police station. After the incident, the accused Raihan went into hiding. A team of RAB-5 Rajshahi CPC-2 Natore camp arrested Raihan on Saturday night from College Mor of Meherpur Sadar Upazila on the basis of secret information. Preparations are underway to take legal action in this incident.
