Microsoft recently announces new Surface Duo 2 with Snapdragon 888 and triple camera

 

Kolkata (India) correspondent: Microsoft today launched the second generation of its Surface Duo smartphone. The new Surface Duo 2 corrects many of the shortcomings of the previous model on paper, and is a much more fleshed out offering, especially considering the price point.The new Surface Duo 2 features dual 5.8-inch 1892×1344 resolution AMOLED panels, which combined become 8.3-inch across with a resolution of 2688×1892. The display can reach 800 nits of brightness and is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The new feature on this model is the bump up to 90Hz for smoother scrolling. The displays are also slightly curved on the inner edge so when the device is folded, the curves are visible from the outside and glow to indicate notifications.
The new Surface Duo 2 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, with 128/256/512GB of storage and 8GB of LPDDR5 memory. The new model runs on Android 11 out of the box.
The camera on the back has been bumped up to a triple lens unit. It now features a 12MP f1.7 main wide, 12MP f2.4 2x telephoto, and 16MP f2.2 utlra-wide. You can also record video up to 4K 60fps or up to 1080p 240fps.
The Surface Duo 2 also supports the new Surface Slim Pen 2, which can be magnetically attached to the outside of the device to charge. The Surface Duo 2 itself does not support wireless charging for its 4449mAh battery but you do get 23W USB-C fast charging, although you will have to get the charger separately.
The Surface Duo 2 starts at $1500 and is available for pre-order today. It comes in Glacier as well as a new Obsidian color.
