india Surrenders to England

BTC News Sports Desk: Indian Women’s cricket team’s poor performance continues as they lost yet another game against England Women’s team. Though the format is different, but Indian Women’s team performance remains the same. None of the players could deliver under pressure, except their captain Mithali Raj.
England made it a one- sided game as they were brilliant in both batting and bowling. India’s 201/8 was overtaken by them in just 34.5 overs. They just lost 2 wickets in the process. The match was played at Bristol County Ground on Sunday.
The decision of bowling first after winning the toss, finally pays off as Indian openers could not score runs and lost their wickets at an early stage. Shefali Verma, the youngest player to debut in ODI, lasted just 14 balls as she scores mere 15 runs with 2 boundaries. Smriti Mandhana too went cheaply.
Sophie Ecclestone’s spell of 40 for 3, includes the wicket of Mithali Raj who scored a brilliant 72. T Beaumont’s 87 not out and N Sciver’s 74 not out helped England to win and take a lead in the series by 1-0.
