Sri Lanka started the match quite well. They looked a better team from the previous match with good stroke playing. They reached a handsome score of 275 for 9 after a late fire by C. Karunaratne for his 44 runs. They were struggling at 194 for 6 in the 40th over. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Chahal bagged 3 wickets each and Deepak Chahar bagged 2.
India were struggling at 193 for 7. The target seemed out of reach and bagging the series with a game to go seemed like a dream. Deepak Chahar with his brilliant knock changed the dynamics of the game. Chahar’s self-belief and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s superb support from the other end in their 84-run unbroken stand had the last say.
