North 24 Parganas (India) correspondent: A symposium was presented by Sahitya Academy on the Life and Works of Sunil Gangopadhyay on 25th August 2021. It was an initiative of Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. This symposium was a part of World Literature Series presented by Sahitya Academy.
Famous artists of Bengali Literature were showcased on this event. The whole programme was divided into seven sectors. The welcome speech was delighted by K. Sreenivasarao, who is also the Secretary of Sahitya Academy. Famous poet, Subodh Sarkar, presented the introductory speech.
Eminent Bengali fiction writer, Sankar, chaired the event. Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay inaugurated it and let note was presented by distinguished scholar , Chinmoy Guha. Special papers were delivered by Binayak Bandopadhyay, Srijato and Tilottama Majumdar. The Vote of Thanks was showcased by Devendra Kumar Devesh.
