PRESS RELEASE: The expansion oftelecommunications infrastructure has made the lives and livelihoods of people in Bangladesh more connected and easier. Riggers who are engaged in climbing mobile towers are playing a vital role in expanding the network across the country. To honor them and promote their safety awareness, Huawei has recently organized‘Rigger EHS Family Day 2025’.
The event, held at Huawei’s South Asia headquarters in Dhaka, was attended by riggers and their family members. Chief executive officers and general managers of contracting companies involved in mobile infrastructure development and other distinguished guests also attended the event.
Chen Hengzhou, Director of Huawei South Asia Delivery Management Department was present at the event. The speakers at the program included Md. Lutfur Rahman Sajib, Manager, Huawei’s FSC (Fieldwork Service Center), and Parvez Islam,EHS Manager, Huawei.
They urged riggers to strictly follow EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards and follow safety regulations at the workplace.The role of family members in inspiring the riggers to maintain EHS has been emphasized as well. They also highlighted the importance of care and mental support for the riggers. Various recreational activities were arranged during the program as well.
Chen Hengzhou spent time with the attendees at the event. He said, “We do not consider the riggers only our subcontracting partners, but an integral part of Huawei’s extended family. As a gesture of appreciation, we want to offer their families a moment of joy, and bonding. This event serves as a bridge between safety awareness and the emotional support that their families provide, reinforcing our culture of care and responsibility.”
